Tickets for NL Cup v Soton U21

Post by gm1918 »

I'm looking to go to the above game scheduled for Tuesday 3rd December at the EBB.

Trying to buy tickets online and it appears you can't buy any tickets for the East Bank or North East terraces. See screenshot attached.

Am I missing something or have they allocated that whole area to Southampton away fans?

Cheers in advance

Assuming this isnt a wind up, the crowds for the 2 NL Cup games so far have been around/below the 400 mark and only the North Stand has been opened for these games.

Thanks for your response and not a wind up! good to know the expected attendance will be around the 400 mark.

Is it expected we'll field a second string team or will it be our best 11?

Tommy has fielded a strong team for the matches so far, missing perhaps 2-3 who you might expect to start a league game (Dewhurst, Hargreaves etc) so I think you can expect it to be a competitive side with most of the regulars.

Unlikely because they joined Shotsweb in December 2023, WestWay/Devon were new members to the board.

Not sure who WestWay/Devon is!

I'm just a local Shots supporter, based in Guildford :)

Tonight's National League Cup match, local derby Altrincham v Man' United U21 is an all ticket sell out.

Interesting - especially given a lot of gates in the competition so far have been approx 10% of the average for a league game.

Realistically the only way we'd have got a decent crowd for the group stage was if we had Chelsea or Arsenal, but neither are playing in the competition!
Derby, Brighton, Fulham and Southampton just don't have the same size fan bases or appeal to neutrals/shots fans.

Just been looking at the Stats for this game which Man Utd won 5-0.,Gate is given as just over 3000. A great attendance (but broadly similar to some of the fixtures the Rec used to see for the old PL2 games prior to the pandemic).

The capacity of the ground is over 5000, so it may have been a sell out based on available tickets, but not on the capacity of the ground. Fair play to Altrincham though for getting this crowd, but the competition still ain’t for me.
