Hopefully a turning point but we need a win as we are seriously flirting with relegation!
Quite Joel, but we are less than half way through the season, but the relegation malaise seems to start, sometimes, before a season starts. There are other clubs around us and below us (or temporarily mathematically above us) who are in equally dodgy situations. Of course relegation is a possibility, I mean York City or FGR could suddenly collapse (think of Keegan’s Newcastle, some 29 x years ago) and find themselves in trouble (although probably unlikely) but we are always so quick to write ATFC off.

As I have said before, “Rose tinted glasses” is a useless concept, but looking through the “Glass of mud” is just as much so.

Not really sure what wannabe coach Safegate, connection with the shots is.

He's history.. let it go.

Anyway ...enjoying the Rugby
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 v 🇿🇦 🏉

Have a nice day!
Absolutely no connection but it seems extremely ironic that you take exception to people having a go at TW when you constantly used to slag Southgate off
It's called one rule for him and another rule for everyone else, Peter.
Its good to see you're both having fun on here

Just saying...

"Temporarily mathematically above us" - I think you could drop the first two words there. If they are above us on points or GD, they are above us. That's how it works. Just like with the teams below us.

I see Maghoma has picked up his 5th yellow and is now suspended for the Altrincham game. Theo will soon get his 2 game ban.

Menayese, Henry and Ryan Jones are all on 4 yellows so if they avoid a yellow on Saturday then they’ll avoid a potential ban for a while.

You could put it like that and it does add a better perspective; teams above us are above us, and teams below us are below us. The word “temporarily” was used to take account of teams who may put a couple of results together, but fall away again.

It still gets to me that there are so many who think that relegation is some sort of certainty, sometimes even before the season starts, but don’t grasp that other teams are where they are for a reason too.

I don’t understand these “a good point” comments tbh. Unless we get a brucie bonus for a good point,it’s just one point & a lot of fans are blind to the fact that we are progressing well to the trap door of relegation. There is still lots to play for, but winning games is not coming easy for the team at the moment, that needs to change over the next few months.

It was a great fight back to get something from the game yesterday. Being honest, I didn’t see it coming at half time .

It will only be a good point come the end of the season when our league position is confirmed.
:D In my humble opinion..Just saying

Assuming we played quite well, judging by the lack of comments on here? Any player ratings etc

Awful first half and could have been 3 or 4 down if Gateshead had taken their chances.
Much better second half.

I don't recall anyone saying relegation is a certainty.
I think we're in a relegation battle at the moment.

Maybe not, and you certainly didn’t. However, I think there is always seems to be an unhealthy and, dare I say, almost paranoid, obsession with it every year. Yes, it could happen, and indeed it has, but then again it often doesn’t.

We got relegated in 19 but Gateshead’s misfortune or clumsiness with money saved us, in 2022 we would normally have gone down finishing 4th bottom but again because of Macclesfield being unable to play in the national league it meant only 3 going down so we’ve been lucky twice, having said that AFC and ATFC have had quite a few promotion near misses since 1978 I think we’re owed quite a bit of good fortune but that will run out one day!

Tim if you are in obvious danger of relegation it is VERY FAR from unhealthy to face up to it, fairly and squarely. On the other hand, it is STUPID in the extreme to pretend that it couldn’t happen. It bloody well could all the time we play like we are at the moment. I am completely unimpressed by those who say (on no discernible evidence and with disarming complacency) that there must be four teams worse than us. I have seen quite a bit of the teams below us, and can state with some confidence that most of them are more than capable of overhauling us unless we start to improve pdq.

I think this squad will finish 18th.
