MATCHDAY THREAD - Gateshead vs ATFC - Sat 16th 3pm KO

Post by Richard Petty »

As no one else has done it yet I thought I would start today's matchday thread.

Another long trip for the players (I assume they travelled yesterday) and if course also a long trip for the travelling faithfull going up to support them. Hope everyone has a safe trip.

Difficult fixture but we do seem to do better against the teams we expect to struggle against so maybe just maybe we can get something today so I am going for a draw.

1-1 Josh Barrett

. After the UTTER TURMOIL OF MONDAY-where TW was brutally sacked and instantly reinstated-how will the team react ? Just think, if Devonshots hadn't have bought that surveillance equipment from the middle aisle at Lidl and planted it in the boardroom, we'd have known nothing of the drama unfolding!
I think there could be a sacked and reinstated manager bounce today.....

Don’t forget about the punch-up. Maybe the players will be inspired and show that kind of fighting spirit today.

Hopefully they’ve not wasted the prize money from the meaningless cup on a hotel and borrowed training ground. When we do, we still lose.
4-0 defeat.

4-0 Gateshead,
with alot of head scratching at 2pm from a disjointed looking teamsheet.

Like CH hope to be proven wrong and hoping tommy and the boys can grab something from todays game to make up for the disgusting performance last week, especially for the fans who have made the long trip north.

Beyond flashes of class from Barrett and Henry, there’s very little about this sub-standard team to lead me to believe we can get anything from this game. But it’s football, and who knows. But very probably a loss… 2-0…?

The team seem down on confidence, the tactics we employ are well and truly sussed by opposition who just focus on our weakness and Tommy seems not to know his best eleven.

So I will go for a 2-0 win to the Shots

Hoping we show the fight to get a point today. I'll go for 1-1.

James Henry's instragram stories suggest that he's in Copenhagen so not expecting him to be involved today.
