Strange his mindset does not appear to be working Richard.Richard Petty wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 7:27 pmHaving listened to Tommy's interviews regarding these games I think regardless of their level of importance he sees winning games as part of the teams mindset of getting into a winning habit. I also get the impression he sees competitive games as better training than just playing against each other at the training ground.Shots91 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 7:21 pm What's changed from previous seasons? This cup and NL cup I've been very surprised how first team these cup games have been so far this year.
Does tommy and the players care that much about these competitions?
Its just a genuine question as over the years especially this competition you would normally be lucky to even see a first team player involved.
Does tommy see it as an extra tougher training session for the boys to get prepared for the next Saturday game I.e this game an extra session to get in before making the trip up north.
Great for fans who travel and get to see more of a first team teamsheet out on the pitch but i really thought this new development B squad they started up this year was going to be more for things like this competition.
Hope the team has a good injury free run out/win tonight.
Must say the one I'm mainly disappointed with is that Henry is playing again just like last Tuesday and we didn't really use him for an important game Saturday just gone.
Will be a bit annoyed if he has plenty of minutes again tonight but doesn't play much up at Gateshead.

We're good against places in the darkest recesses of the New Forest
Logic has no place in being a Shots supporter!
We are back. Bloomin' back! Who'd have thought it!

The 9-1 against Andover was at Basingstoke.Peter macdonald wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 8:06 pm8-0 against bishops stortford was better for me as we weren’t playing at home that day

Re: Bashley
That was neutral territory and although the stortford one was at boreham wood it was an official away game and stortford would have been tougher opponents than Andover
Re: Bashley
That was my point about the venue, Postie. Neutral is not at home.Peter macdonald wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 9:53 pmThat was neutral territory and although the stortford one was at boreham wood it was an official away game and stortford would have been tougher opponents than AndoverOld Bob wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 9:43 pmThe 9-1 against Andover was at Basingstoke.Peter macdonald wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 8:06 pm

Stortford definitely stronger opponents than Andover ... can't argue with you on that one.

Re: Bashley
Wasn't it Lymimgton & New Milton in the FAC?
and Richard Walden puts the Shots 1-0 up against Man Utd
Re: Bashley
We've also played Brockenhurst in the HSC, and Romsey and Locks Heath from the outskirts in the past.
Re: Bashley
Yep, that was it. 4th Qualifying Round?
Wasn't that the year we got knocked out by Shortwood United? (Who the 'ell are they?)
