NLTV and DAZN

Post by Red-n-Blue »

I received an email from NLTV this morning, stating that:

National League TV has moved to DAZN, where you can now access all game highlights and purchase all subscriptions.

Looking at the relevant page on DAZN it doesn't appear possible to purchase a one-time match pass like you can with NLTV. Maybe I've misread it or missed the announcement, but is the only option to stream ATFC games now via a monthly/annual subscription?

I’ve purchased a game pass , it looks like it’s called a game week pass on DAZN .. Still £9.99 .. I clicked on the game I want to watch and the options were there ..

Just had a look and as the previous post says it looks the same.

Week pass £9.99
Monthly subscription £24.99 (Includes play offs)
Annual upfront payment £189.99 (Includes play offs)

I am not sure but I think the week pass is a better deal than the old NLTV when there are Tuesday night games as I think the old one off pass was only for the Saturday or the Tuesday, not both.

This all looks similar / better.

Upside:
- if there are 2 games in a week you want to watch, its cheaper than a per match pass
- hopefully the DAZN app is available on some firesticks/Smart TVs, thus making the actual process of projecting to a TV somewhat easier.

Let’s see if they block VPN’s….If they do it’ll cost them a lot of money.

Thanks everyone for the clarification. It does indeed look like a better deal on DAZN.

Now, if anyone can improve the results I've witnessed (I've yet to see us win on NLTV this season), that would be grand. :D

They do have a reputation for being quite good at detecting VPN's.

However my experience with providers who are efficient at detecting them can usually be managed by switching servers via your VPN app once detected.. ITV are a good example if your abroad and watching ITVx your fine for about 30 to 40 mins then you get detected so a quick switch from say a London server to a Manchester server will then get you another 30 to 40 mins.

Update: DAZN app is available on Virgin Boxes. So that does help a lot for Tuesday matches.

PS - whilst they advertise being on ROKU - this appears to be US not UK side.

Smart TV's certainly work Robin because I tested it out a few weeks back on my Samsung TV and created a free DAZN account in anticipation of the switchover.

Not sure that actually works Robin. I have Virgin and when I used the DAZN Channel a while back that only gave you Womens Champions league replays (which to be fair is what Virgin advertise) and if you use the DAZN App via the virgin box that only seemed to offer the DAZN Box Office

looks to be working for me this morning - i got as far as National League schedule and tomorrows matches.

This is via the alphabetical listing of Apps under "all apps" on the new Virgin software release that came out in 2024.

I will have to try that again 👍

Do you have a V6 Box or the later 360 Box, I still have the V6 maybe that makes a difference.

Yes I can tell from the images that's the 360 box, I just googled Virgin apps and it does say the older V6 Boxes don't get as many apps. I will have to haggle wirh them over the pricing again in January so I might use the newer box as a bargaining tool.
