Lot of good saves from Dewhurst but we grew into the game. Decent. Anderson showing some nice touches.

After losing 4-0 at the weekend, you wouldn’t be surprised to see a few changes anyway - tiredness or not!

Can see Big Man Theo and Thomas starting.

Judging by the reports of yesterday’s match, that’s highly likely if we were both to get there.

Re: Rochdale 4-0 Aldershot Town - Saturday 29th March 2025 (Match Day Thread)

The bulk of the staff in Searles time were students from Southampton Uni doing sports as part of their degrees. A student doing a degree??? All the analysts etc, not the manager, assistant and physio obviously. Not to belittle the students’ abilities, but does that explain a lot? Any other industry...

Re: What would you choose? Relegation/Survival v FA Trophy Final Win/Loss

Re the last question, “ Aldershot Town defeat Woking in the SF to reach Wembley for the first time and then win the FA Trophy Final but suffer relegation ”. An immediate comparison that came to my mind is Wigan Athletic. In 2013 they won the FA Cup beating Man City but were relegated from the PL th...

Re: Rochdale 4-0 Aldershot Town - Saturday 29th March 2025 (Match Day Thread)

Interesting point Shotsboy. When I first started supporting the Shots in 1961, Dave Smith was Secretary/Manager and Jimmy Sirrell was the trainer (complete with bucket and sponge) and that was it, basically. Of course things have changed but just how many support staff does a manager at a club like...

Re: Reading troubles

Strangley enough, I found an old press cutting covering the demise of the old club, and the article featured an offer from Reading to bus Shots fans free of charge ti Elm Park. What a nice gesture it would be to reciprocate. I’m with you. Put (ancient) rivalries aside and if we have capacity/budget...

Re: National League South Title Race

Being from here, I'm really hoping Truro do it. Like Aldershot, huge game on the 5th Cornwall is a lovely county and a part of the country that’s retained its Englishness unlike the rest of the country unfortunately Just don’t tell a Cornishman he’s English though…. Was going to say wasn’t there a ...

Re: Widds Jr.

Just watched his post match interview and he speaks well enough and it’s blatantly obvious that the players in the group are a tight knit group. I honestly still can’t get my head around that some actually think that the geezer faked his injury. I mean I can full understand the nepotism bit but I a...

Re: Widds Jr.

The irony of a thread about a topic asking people to stop discussing that topic! But ultimately, the Theo topic will come up again and again, be that on a new topic, or a match day thread, or wherever else it is relevant all the time it remains relevant. A lot of people feel very frustrated by Theo...

Won't surprise me if BBC pull live comms on NL matches to reduce costs. It's been a topic for sometime. Quite hard to find someone who has anything positive to say about live radio commentary on our matches. Use it or lose it. Can see your first point happening. Would disagree with the second. Lots...

Re: Aldershot Town v Ebbsfleet United - Saturday 22nd March 2025 (Match Day Thread)

I think we’ll be ok this season but beating Fylde at home would just help settle any remaining nerves.

From the Twitter feed, sounded like Big Man Theo and his Amazing Recovery Powers rescued the point with his countless great passes and us scoring a goal just after he came on?
