Re: Mancheater City

About time the rules were modified. The goal keeper had a few fingers over the line and some say he should have a red card, what nonsence it would have ruined the game. For serious handling( the whole body) right outside the box a penalty would be more appropriate. But yes red card for foul play. A...

Re: Ex-Players & Managers thread May 1st on

Also released is Ethan Chislett's former teammate in his Wimbledon days, Corie Andrews who has been released by Oxford City. As it turns out, Corie probably played the best football of his career with us. He was the only one ever looked like scoring in the awful teams assembled by Searle and Molesl...

Re: Ex-Players & Managers thread May 1st on

Agree, if it was this ''open secret'' (which i very much doubt) then why had nobody else picked him up sooner, funny how people throw out these comments like 'open secrets' Listen, I would not have said it if I didn't have good reason. Maybe Graham Stovid and Beechcroft had never heard of Ethan bef...

Re: Barrett’s Banger

Have to say that will go down as one of the great goals in Aldershot colours. Along with Abbo's Header vs Basingtoke, Bully's Pen vs Hendon, Will Evans Volley vs Tranmare and Scotty's winner vs Torquey. Have I missed any? Was it the best? My opinion is yes. Some of you may thinbk differently. Cant ...

Re: Ex-Players & Managers thread May 1st on

That's a surprise. 168 EFL appearances, 26 goals, and still only 26. Surely he'll be snapped up by an EFL club? I would say that Ethan was the standout signing of the awful Danny Searle years. Lots of people gave Danny credit for "finding" Chislett but it was an open secret in local footb...

Re: Barrett’s Banger

Would like to admit at this point that at the beginning of the season I raised the point that Barrett looked overweight, and was generally annoyed as I felt he had loads of ability but wasn't bothering to get in shape. Regret those comments now, as clearly he's been one of, if not the best, Shots p...

Re: Who would you keep?

I wouldn’t keep - Jordi Maghoma Theo Bray Ghandour I'd keep Ollie Bray both for his potential and because he can play as a central striker. We have missed having many (any?) players capable of playing there. On these answers I would keep Old Bob but release Alex  Ah, but can you afford me? I'v...

Re: Who would you keep?

I’m interested to know why so many people don’t seem to like Olly Scott? He was superb before getting injured. I’d keep him. I think the reason is that he took some time to settle in, Alex. If you recall, he had some shaky games early on. But to his credit, he grew into a very decent LWB. However, ...

Re: Ex-Players & Managers thread May 1st on

Nope....I think there will be better out there that offer more and probably from the start of the game, not just a sub. I refuse to use this "finisher" crap that Tommy likes to use to not offend anyone. But Steve, you are subtly changing your argument from Kwame is not effective from the ...

Re: Ex-Players & Managers thread May 1st on

He should not be kept. Not good enough. End of. Sadly he has no awareness of his inadequacies. Yesterday and today he's stuck himself front and centre of the celebrations as if he won the thing all on his own. I don't want to be griping this week but he's starting to get on my goat. Chimpster, you ...

Re: Ex-Players & Managers thread May 1st on

Would you like to revise that after yesterday, Steve  Quite agree OB. Kwame was a real handful in his time on the pitch yesterday. Won all his headers, held the ball up well against strong pressure from behind, and was instrumental in the final goal. I'd certainly think he is worth signing. Sa...
