Re: Rec Pitch

The pitch at the Rec has traditionally been a very good surface. However, when Chelsea used the Rec for reserve games they changed it to a better than excellent (superb) surface by throwing loads of money at it. What they did was completely strip the turf and lay a silica ('Fibresand') sub-base rein...

Re: Who would you keep?

I’d just look to add Tetek, Akpan, Anderson, Henry and Woodhouse to the 7 on contract. The rest can go. That’ll give 12 players signed and another 12 to sign in the summer.

Re: The 2025 FA Trophy Final - Aldershot Town v Spennymoor Town (Match Day Thread)

I took a note the remaining seats yesterday and there were 637 in Block 543, 455 in Block 544, 33 in Block 545 and 2 in Block 240. So yesterday we sold 66 seats. There are 1,065 seats left, so at that rate (allowing for a gradual slow down) I'd guess it will take about 3 weeks for us to sell those. ...

Re: Constructive ideas for Ground Development

Nonsense Richard, read my post again. The five points I make are all thoroughly falsifiable, yet you make no attempt to address any of them. Sorry, Ian, but I stand by my “12,000 is too big” comment. The big crowds of yesteryear are highly unlikely to be replicated. My “rattling around” comment sim...

Re: Constructive ideas for Ground Development

I think stands as Boston's West Stand on 3 sides of The Rec (North/South/High St) and then of course something really special for the East Bank standing area. That would give us an approx 12,000 capacity (2,100 seated on 3 sides, plus say 6,000 standing for the East Bank). Nice one and what we've g...
