Re: What would you choose? Relegation/Survival v FA Trophy Final Win/Loss

In 1955 my dad took me to watch my first Aldershot game at the age of 4 so its always been a dream to one day watch an Aldershot team at Wembley so now being at the age of 74 i pray to god that my 70yr wait will be over and i can say i saw the shots at Wembley . A good omen is Newcastle went 70 yea...

Re: What would you choose? Relegation/Survival v FA Trophy Final Win/Loss

Wigan are a traditional lower league club who punched well above their weight for a good few years. In their position I think I'd have taken the glory of an FA Cup win over PL survival. I'd say the same with us if we were miraculously in the championship. I'd take an FA Cup for relegation back to 3...

Re: What would you choose? Relegation/Survival v FA Trophy Final Win/Loss

Re the last question, “ Aldershot Town defeat Woking in the SF to reach Wembley for the first time and then win the FA Trophy Final but suffer relegation ”. An immediate comparison that came to my mind is Wigan Athletic. In 2013 they won the FA Cup beating Man City but were relegated from the PL th...

Re: What would you choose? Relegation/Survival v FA Trophy Final Win/Loss

Let’s worry about getting to W first. Losing the semi would be worse than the final I think Definitely. Whilst it would be great to win a final I'd settle now for getting there and losing. Saturday is everything. Getting to Wembley at last means a lot to us shots fans particularly the older you are...

You can't accept it but the sports scientist (and I think we have one) will have evidence on which to base their decisions. They can see how fast and far people are running and that'll tell them what they need to know. Isn’t walking the streets for 5 hours a day 6 days a week not tiring after the w...

If we finally get there we’ll do it again within a few years because these things happen

Re: Rochdale 4-0 Aldershot Town - Saturday 29th March 2025 (Match Day Thread)

Mr deen, I appreciate sportsman do get tired but it’s become a weird obsession, I simply can’t accept playing 2 football matches in a week is too much I think Bob things have changed since we played football. The players are more finely tuned and at a higher risk of injuries due to match pace and t...

Re: What would you choose? Relegation/Survival v FA Trophy Final Win/Loss

What I would say is if we beat fylde on Tuesday we’re about 90% safe, lose then that goes down by about a third in my opinion plus it might give our friends from kingfield a boost specially if they beat dale on Tuesday

Re: What would you choose? Relegation/Survival v FA Trophy Final Win/Loss

We’ll do both I reckon but if we mess about on Tuesday with the team selection and lose then if we go down then it’s pure stupidity I’m afraid

Re: Rochdale 4-0 Aldershot Town - Saturday 29th March 2025 (Match Day Thread)

Woking game shouldn't even be thought about until the final whistle has gone after Tuesday's fylde game. Should be strongest team available on that pitch on Tuesday trying to get that result to all but secure our survival. We are not out of the woods yet. Would rather try get this game won and some...

Re: Rochdale 4-0 Aldershot Town - Saturday 29th March 2025 (Match Day Thread)

I said earlier we could only be 5 from the drop after being 10 yesterday morning, it’s arrogance in my opinion, if we did beat fylde with a weak side then great but I wouldn’t risk it not even for a biscuit 🍪
